Matt was inspired from a young age about the beauty of wood, and the extraordinary figures, colors, and creations that result from wonderful craftsmanship. He strives to share his love of wood and its features with others by creating customized, unique pieces that display the elegance of a material that many take for granted.

All of the wood Matt uses is locally-sourced from south-central Wisconsin. Each piece is hand-crafted and unique.

Matt established Nakoma Hardwoods in 2020. His work has been acquired by clients from Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and California. Matt is increasingly chosen in juried arts and crafts fairs, most recently Art Fair off the Square (Madison) in 2022 and 2023.
